BJ’s Brewhouse is brewing to bridge the gap between Vegas and the Reno craft brewery scene. A collaboration brew with BJ’s Reno Head Brewer Joe Baldwin; HUDL Head Brewer Joe Cuozzo, Assistant Brewer Cameron Meredith and Cellarman Megan Hanley; and Amoretti Brewmaster & Brand Ambassador Nic Bortolin took place at HUDL on May 31 and marks the first ever BJ’s collab with a Las Vegas brewery. The brew, named Peachcycle, is a Summer Ale mimicking a cobbler with brown sugar and summer ingredients of peach and apricot provided by Amoretti Craft Puree.
The collaboration came about after Joe Baldwin stopped in at HUDL while in town attending the Craft Brewers Conference in April. Baldwin said, “After meeting Joe (Cuozzo) and trying his beers we came up with the idea to do a collaboration beer that would help bridge the divide in Nevada between Reno and Las Vegas, a six-and-a-half-hour drive, coming together to make a crushable fruity beer for the summer like a peach cobbler. We both have experience making peach beers so now we’ll have a pretty tasty summer beer at the end of June.” Cuozzo added, “We wanted to have fun and make our locals market happy. With BJ’s five (Southern Nevada) locations where everybody goes, we get to introduce HUDL to more neighborhoods, and will also introduce our beer to Reno, with a goal to enter the Reno market.”
Peachcycle will be available at all Nevada BJ’s locations and at HUDL by the end of June. Also noteworthy is that all BJ’s beers sent to Southern Nevada BJ’s Brewhouses are now brewed at the Reno brewery.
